All the rumors about the new digital book reader from Amazon, they were true. The new Amazon Kindle 2 has just been announced in New York and finally be able to compete with the new Sony PRS-700.

The selling price in the U.S. will be USD $ 359.

• Audio output of standard 3.5 mm
• USB 2.0
• The new battery can be used with EVDO active for 4 consecutive days or two weeks without the use of EVDO. This equates to a 25% longer compared to the original Kindle.
• 2GB of storage, which equates to 1,500 full digital books. 7 times more memory than the first version.
• 20% faster when compared to the Kindle page above.
• New function "Whispersync '(synchronizing silent) that lets you synchronize multiple devices wirelessly.
• New function "text to speech" that literally "reads the text aloud.
