It seems that the development of the Intel Atom is following two paths. On one hand we have the dual core Atom 330 to the head, and on the other hand models with a core, which now will undergo a new update with Intel Atom Z550.
The Atom Z550 belongs to the family of Z5xx that as we are a range greater than most commonly used in ultra. The Atom Z550 will also be the first Atom reaching frequencies of 2 GHz, but not noteworthy other developments will not have seen before: on 45-nanometer manufacturing and a TDP of just 2.4 watts, but in just over Atom other manufacturer's catalog.
The Intel Atom Z550 or be dual core, so the Atom 330 is still the only model available with two nuclei. Despite this, many expect Intel to present a new model with dual-core Atom in the coming months, possibly for the summer.
