Panasonic UK has announced the addition of the 10.1-megapixel camera DMC-FS62 to its line FS.The new camera features an intelligent auto mode which has a optical image stabilizer, automatic ISO control, face detection and auto scene selection full. The new Intelligent Auto Mode selects between one of two modes of optical stabilization, depending on which of the two zoom ratios are being used.Advances in detection accuracy and correction effect coming through a new chip image processing Venus Engine IV.
The face detection feature can track up to 15 faces, continually adjusts focus and exposure and allows the digital red-eye correction. The intelligent scene selector selects Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Night Landscape and Night portrait mode and has a new feature of automatic backlight that can detect and correct the sources of light behind the subject. All new intelligent automatic modes can be activated by pressing iA at the top of the camera.
The DMC-FS62 uses a F2.8 lens Leica DC VARIO-ELMARIT with 4x optical zoom, which can be extended up to 7.1x recording mode in 3-megapixel. The camera has a 2.5 inch LCD screen for image processing and is capable of capturing video at 848 × 480 resolution at 30 frames per second. A video standard of 640 × 480 for recording mode is also available.
The DMC-FS62 will be launched in the United Kingdom this May and will be available in colors silver, black, blue, red and pink. Prices have not yet been announced.
