The device has been designed explicitly taking into account engineering tasks, and revolves around a "cap" controller, which can be tilted, turned or pushed to navigate through 3D environments.
One feature that separates the PRO from other mice of the company is to display workflow assistant, a color display by default that allows users to navigate through the key tasks for different programs, or view the calendars and email Outlook. Assistant software can be adapted for different purposes. The mouse also has five new navigation buttons dual role assigned to switch between different views, and five dual-function buttons "intelligent" control commands from a common application. In front of the controls has a wrist rest on a curve designed to minimize the amount of movement of hands and arms.
The SpacePilot PRO is priced at $ 499 and is now compatible with Windows XP or Vista, Solaris 8 or 10, and SuSE distributions of Linux 9.3 or Redhat Enterprise WAS 4.
