Dell announced yesterday the launch of its first netbook designed specifically for educational users, the Dell Latitude 2100 that, unlike the Inspiron Mini, is prepared to use something hard to receive in a classroom with a sturdy chassis, surface rubber and texture on the cover that makes it easy to grasp.
The new Dell Latitude 2100 netbook has 10.1-inch LCD screen with LED technology, WXGA resolution (1024 x 576 pixels) and choice of touch screen technology that can be used for visual education applications.
As part of its approach, the Latitude 2100 also offers rare options like a leash that can be built one used as a handle or an antibacterial coating that would prevent children from catching the disease by sharing the netbook, and an activity light on the top allows teachers know when students could be using the internet connection without permission.
With regard to the technical specifications on Dell Latitude 2100 uses an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz, DDR2 memory up to 1GB, a 3-cell battery and weighs only 1.32kg. 10/100/1000 gigabit Ethernet and includes the option of Windows Vista Home Basic or Windows XP Home and Ubuntu Linux.

Also you can opt for regular hard disk up to 250GB at 5400rpm or SSD up to 16GB and is offered in yellow, black, green, blue and red.
