Garmin has introduced a new GPS navigator of the nuvi series. This is the Garmin nuvi 1690 it seems to have its own cellular module within, and also comes with a mount for the car that also charges the device.Garmin online services that have received the name "nuinfo" provide information on weather, fuel prices, flight schedules and the ability to perform local Google searches.
But for online services, the nuvi 1690 is similar to others in this series. It offers Bluetooth, lane assistance, detailed views of intersections and text to speech function.
Has not yet been informed whether Garmin will charge any subscription fee for their service nuinfo.
