The Kindle 2 can run Ubuntu

It is incredible and very inspiring as there are people worldwide who take the new closed electronic devices (iPhone, Kindle, Xbox, Apple TV and many others) and released to make them more powerful. Manufacturing companies want to limit us.

These software wizards are part of technological change, they want to get 110% of the performance of any team. These are new liberators.
One is Jesse Vincent, who has been very interesting developments on "gut" the software owner Kindle 2 runs to make a version of Linux, specifically Ubuntu 9.04.Apparently, besides being a popular e-book reader, the Kindle is like a toy for geeks who love Linux.

In the last OSCON 2009 Jesse did a talk show all the fun things you can do with a Kindle and How to unlock more features? I recommend you see the talk then it's great.
